about

Electric Mantras grew out of some musical "viagens", recorded by Matthias and Miranda in Rio de Janeiro, Oct. '88. The short tracks show rather independent pictures, while the title track represents one entire sound travel of over an hour, condensed by linking fluently the interesting stages, leaving all of the original themes and most of the melody lines, the music has been intuitively colored by all kinds of instruments in Brazil and Switzerland, only "The unexpected Guitar solo" has been recorded directly to two tracks in May '89.

The only words in "Repetition" talk about the pulsation that brings harmony and dynamics into the Great Creation and makes it grow constantly. The same way, in Electric Mantras a slowly changing repetitive base grows and fades. It lifts musician and listener into a harmonic, relaxed state, that allows unnumbered melodies to come through. What we can listen to now, is the original inspiration.

In the solo albums, all sounds come from a Paradis Polyphonic (hexaphonic) guitar which brings an amazing spectrum of expressions.
